Overview
ScreenerSight is a Chrome extension that helps you compare financial metrics from Screener.in. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
In short: We collect minimal data. Your financial comparisons stay on your device. We only collect what's necessary for licensing and payment processing.
Data We Collect
1. Data Stored Locally (On Your Device)
- Saved companies: Company names, URLs, extracted metrics, and personal notes you add
- Preferences: Dark/light mode setting
- Device identifier: A randomly generated ID for trial tracking
This data is stored using Chrome's local storage and never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.
2. Data Synced Across Devices
- License key: Your purchased license for validation
- User identifier: A randomly generated ID for license management
This data syncs via Chrome's sync storage if you're signed into Chrome.
3. Data Collected for Payments
- Email address: For sending license key backup and purchase confirmation
- Payment information: Processed securely by Razorpay (we never see your card details)
How We Use Your Data
- License validation: To verify your purchase and enable premium features
- Trial management: To track free trial usage (10-day trial period)
- Email communication: To send your license key backup after purchase
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Browsing history or activity outside of Screener.in company pages
- Personal financial information or investment decisions
- Analytics or tracking data about your usage patterns
- Any data from websites other than Screener.in
Website Access
This extension only accesses pages on screener.in/company/* to extract publicly displayed financial metrics for comparison purposes.
- The extension cannot read any other websites or your general browsing activity
- It only activates when you visit a Screener.in company page
- All extracted data comes from publicly visible information on the page
Chrome Permissions
The extension requests the following permissions:
- storage: To save your company comparisons, notes, and preferences locally on your device
- Host access to screener.in: To read and extract financial metrics from Screener.in company pages
These are the minimum permissions required for the extension to function. We do not request access to any other websites or browser features.
No Remote Code
All extension code runs locally on your device. We do not load or execute any code from remote servers. The only network requests made are:
- License validation API calls (to verify your purchase)
- Trial status checks (to manage free trial period)
These API calls only send/receive JSON data and never include executable code.
Third-Party Services
Razorpay
We use Razorpay to process payments. When you make a purchase, your payment information is handled directly by Razorpay according to their privacy policy. We only receive confirmation of successful payment and your email address.
Cloudflare
Our API is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) as described in their privacy policy.
Data Security
- All API communications use HTTPS encryption
- License keys are securely generated using cryptographic methods
- Payment processing is handled by PCI-DSS compliant Razorpay
- Local data is stored in Chrome's secure storage APIs
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data: View all locally stored data via Chrome DevTools
- Delete your data: Clear all extension data by running
chrome.storage.local.clear()in the console - Export your data: Use the built-in export feature to download your comparisons
- Request data deletion: Contact us to remove your email and license from our database
Data Retention
- Local data: Retained until you clear it or uninstall the extension
- License records: Retained indefinitely to support lifetime licenses
- Trial records: Retained to prevent trial abuse
Children's Privacy
ScreenerSight is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
